Circuits: Get your party on

May 21, 2010

Any reason is a good reason to throw a party, but every year, the When, Where, and How of party planning can prove to be the trickiest part. Circuits in Alameda is a great discovery, the kind one parent happily recommends to another. It’s not a crazy, overcrowded Chuck E. Cheese, but a convenient party rental space where the kids can unleash all their energy and the parents don’t have to worry about a thing.

One of the best parts about renting here is you’ll have the entire facility to yourself during your private party. Your young guests can roam and play through large, open spaces on a single floor, with everything from arcade games and inflatable bouncers to Dance Dance Revolution stations and Virtual Reality bikes at their disposal. Parents can hang out at the indoor picnic tables or catch up on cushioned window seats. The kids will have plenty to do, without your having to coordinate the games and buy expensive party props.

Upon a quick calculation, you’ll find that a Circuits rental means crossing multiple chores off your To-Do list. You don’t even have to buy invitations, because those are provided, too. So what is left to make you feel useful? Hosts still need to bring their own food and beverages, plates and utensils, but party supervisors at Circuits can coordinate team games and assist the children with all the equipment on the floor.

Equipment includes an entire wall of Dance Dance Revolution stations, Wii Sports, Guitar Hero, Virtual Reality Bikes, and Smart Cycles for smaller tots. There’s also a Sportwall for team games, indoor basketball hoops, electronic jump roping, a slider bouncer, traditional bouncer, and lots of room to run in the 4,000 square-feet space, where the decor is bright and festive.

Only children 4-17 are charged in group rates, which are scheduled in 1 ½ to 2-hour time blocks. Adults and the birthday celebrant get in free. Check the website for schedule availability.

And what about cleaning up after the party? Well, you can cross that off your list, too.
