I'm a former dot-commer who "retired" to pursue his passion as a performer. I've been pretty successful, with 2 CD's to my credit (both included on the nominating ballot for the 2006 Grammy Awards) with a third one set for release in 2010, and a successful theatre and concert career. I consult part-time in the call center space to supplement the performing income, and am actively working to "retire" from that as well.

I've had four significant, long-term relationships in my life; 2 with women (before I came out in 1991) including a 7-year marriage, and 2 with men, including a 16-year marriage. I'm definitely marriage-minded in the long-term, but I'm looking to take it slowly, especially given my hectic performing schedule. I'm a big ol' white boy from Pennsylvania...I have struggled with weight my entire life, and once weighed 350! I spent 3 years on Weight Watchers and lost 175 - and I've managed to keep 125 of it off, but I am definitely NOT a gym rat.

I went to a strict Baptist Bible college, trying to shed my homosexuality ("pray away the gay"). I was on the staff and boards of several churches over the years, but today have pretty much rejected organized religion. My spiritual views today are more karmic in nature.

I'm originally from the Pasadena area but my heart of hearts has always been in the Bay Area. IMHO, San Francisco is the best city in the country. I work at a hostel downtown. I'm a musician and private tutor. I like doing both, but the latter is mostly a vocation while the former is my true interest. I spend a lot of time composing music and am currently trying to put together the "dream band" to perform it. I've been in SF for 15 years and pretty much love it. These days, I find pleasure in reading poetry, watching movies, always learning, always seeking knowledge, practicing Spanish, driving with the music way too loud, dancing at a live show, reminiscing on my year living in Mexico, exploring the city, meeting new people, reuniting with friends at a dive, snowboarding in winter, sailing in the summer, planning trips to Mexico and Greece, adding to my shoe collection, dreaming about being a teacher, walking dogs and taking care of cats, wishing I could add to my small art collection, telling myself to paint more, making costumes and being creative, taking long naps with my kitten, adoring animals and looking like a crazy person b/c I talk to every dog that passes me on the street, making my mom laugh till she nearly wets herself, going to Giants games with my dad, throwing back drinks with my parents' friends and hearing their amazing life stories, working out, dressing up, figuring out how to play my new Wii, trash talking like no other when playing games (video and board), discovering new places in the city, driving in the city, searching through the DVD bargain bins to add to my used DVD collection, witnessing someone catch the muni in the nick of time, always taking the scenic route, constantly referencing/quoting film/literature/television shows, and bookmarking charity websites that i want to some day donate lots of money to.

Please note: I am not a skinny chick. I just want to be honest. I know I have some weight to lose. And I am, so far I've lost 20 lbs and a bunch of inches. But I lose weight for me and my health, I don't do it for anyone else or to fit into a certain size or weigh a certain amount. I have a very healthy outlook. Plus, I've discovered that it can be fun. So anyway, my point: If you don't like me only because of my exterior, please move on and keep looking. I understand everyone has their preferences so I just wanted to be honest now to avoid a disappointment later. But no matter what, I'm still a confident and outgoing person, and nothing will change that.

I'm a student majoring in illustration at the Academy of Art University....hmmm I'm going to do my best to make this not sound like a resume. My childhood and teenage-hood were full of amazing and formative experiences. Here's one of those: I went to Florida when I was eight and while wading in the shallow, clear ocean far from shore, I saw a huge dark cloud approaching in the water. This was a large fever of stingrays and as my mom panicked and lifted me up, I felt their wings brush against my feet. This wasn't scary at all for me and I remember having an intense urge to reach down and touch one with my hands. This may be all you need to know about me!

I'm from a small town originally, so I know everyone in my SF neighborhood and am friends with most everyone on my street. I lived in NYC on a busy street, but near a park. I've worked for the UN and for an NGO associated with the UN. Before that, I spent 3 years in Kenya working at the National Museum doing archaeology and anthropology. I've studied in France and Holland.

i really, truly, deeply love watching sunsets. i come from a happily broken home on the East Coast, and now I'm eight years deep in California. Studied down in Santa Cruz, where I learned to love the fog and miss the thunderstorms, and now I spend my time working at a job i tend to love, and of course discovering friends and follies in a city that grows on me daily.

Can me humble or what you will, but I don't like describing myself. Being in a design profession my writing ability is sub-par, but I will notice the most minute things about a build, interior or aesthetic.

I contain multitudes -- but some constants exist. Among other things, a love of food, fire, and fun. I moved to San Francisco, about 3 years ago from the east coast (bye bye dc) and haven't looked back (though at least once a year I like to return mid-year get that summer feeling -- enjoying a cold beer on a balmy evening by Georgetown waterfront, priceless).

This whole thing seems really weird to me. Do normal people really do these things? I'm normal, so they must. I've never had a problem meeting guys, just a problem sticking with the wrong ones. But I've decided to be really picky this time and maybe meet someone not based on attraction or how much fun I'm having at the time, but on all the other things that I've come to realize are really important. I have a successful, normal, cool, creative but fairly conservative family. My parents have been married for 38 years and it would be cool to be like them, just with more sex and more traveling. I'm from a small town in Idaho and I have a huge extended family. I love it and feel bad for people that didn't grow up surrounded by ton of people who look like them. I feel like a small town hick here, but I feel like a big city girl in Idaho. I think I am somewhere in the middle.

Not like oooh law school, but oh yeah, studying all the time right now. I promise I will come back and fill this in with a legitimate, impassioned self-summary very soon. There are bits of me that have grown. My feet, of course, and my hands, and most of the bits in between, in proportion. My ears too, and some of the bits in between them. I used to think I could fly, if only I could concentrate hard enough, clear my head of extraneous thoughts and focus my energy into a hard little ball of pure will. Now I just buy a ticket, recline my seat and wonder if I'll have to get up to go to the bathroom or not, gauging the amount of inconvenience it is likely to cause the captious looking ferret-faced man seated beside me. Other bits haven't grown. There is supposed to be a bit of you that becomes serious and buckled-down so that it doesn't flap about loosely as you go about the earnest, ponderous and awfully necessary stations of your life. This particular bit, this organ of decorum and responsibility, well, this bit is a little underdeveloped. But I don't mind.

I value my friendships a lot. Since I require very little sleep (about 4 hours a night) I try to make a lot of time for friends / fun during the evening, then get work / relaxation time afterwards. I'm a huge music fan and enjoy things from indie rock to the grateful dead, to old school rap. I try to go to shows in SF often, and really appreciate the amazing live music scene we have here!

I'm your typical non practicing Jew - not very religious at all. I tend to lean towards libertarianism in theory, and usually in practice as well. Board games are a favorite pass time of mine, and I'm also a huge football fan. My degrees are in computer science, but I've been focusing on investing in recent years.

I have a huge soft spot for entrepreneurs, and respect the hell out of anyone who truly goes for what they want, and can get a team to follow them to victory. I cannot be managed, and I cannot manage others. I tend to like the starts of projects, but not maintaining them.

I love San Francisco. Which doesn't necessarily mean that I've experienced all of it, but I love what I've been able to find here. I moved here to dance, and am beginning to discover my own voice in the larger dance community.

When not involved in dance, dance making, or dance administration, I am inspired by nature, leisure hours in coffee shops, books, and random occurrences in a normal day.

WANTED: Dependent, boring, unadventurous women with the intellect of a garden hose. What's funny is that I just moved back here from Orlando, FL where some women, in failing to grasp the sarcasm, actually wrote saying they were fully qualified for the part. :) Needless to say, it's good to be home.

Let's see...I now get on great with two of the most awesome younger sisters that I teased the hell out of as a kid.

While I'm no health freak, I do find myself becoming increasingly fascinated by the roles that diet and nutrition play on the body. Add to this the search to better understand how food gets to the store and the environmental and nutritional hits when major food corporations start cutting corners.

I had a great gig working on cruise ships for close to a decade that instilled such a love for travel that very little can now beat stepping off a plane in a foreign land. There are new tastes that tantalize the palate, new music that inspires dance and foreign languages that come to life after much study. These experiences feed me and help form my lighthearted approach to life and my love of laughter.

G'Day! I'm Leo! I'm an SF transplant from LA. I came to the bay in 2002 for college and subsequently took a few years off to 'find myself,' (read: "find income"), and am now back at UC Berkeley to finish my degree. By day I am a student and by night I am a bartender; I work/study hard - so i'd like to think - and I also like to have a good time. If time allows I like to enjoy good food, good drink, good music, good movies, good trips, and, if that all fails I am more than happy with good company. I'm an optimist and a realist.

I'm horrible at describing myself but.. I'm a fun, kind, genuine guy with a little bit everything thrown in. I love learning about things, meeting new people, and exploring new places. I'm not your typical castro gay and would like to meet like minded people.
