San Francisco California Sports

The San Francisco 49ers bid farewell this week, and while it's not the first time they've had to sit on the bench in recent years due to lack of interest from other NFL teams, there's no sign the 49ers are leaving Santa Clara, though not much has been said about their departure.

The team was founded in Philadelphia in 1946, joined the San Francisco Warriors in 1962 and was the only Bay Area team to play in the NBA until the California Golden Seals moved to Cleveland in 1976. The Warriors originally played from Philadelphia, but moved to San Diego in 1961, Los Angeles in 1963 and finally Oakland in 1966. In 1971, they moved to what is now Oracle Arena in Oakland and represented the entire state in their first ever World Series game against the New York Knicks.

The 49ers keep the San Francisco name and play their home games at Levi's Stadium, home of the San Jose Earthquakes in the NFL. The team will also play its home games at Qualcomm Stadium in Santa Clara, California, where the first ever Super Bowl will be held.

Caltrain brings San Francisco hockey fans directly to the venue, while ACE and VTA buses serve many local routes. If you take Caltrain to SF, you should not forget one of San Diego's most popular sporting events, the home games of the San Jose Earthquakes.

The Raiders are another Bay Area NFL team that plays home games for the Raiders and one of the easiest BART rides out of San Francisco. The Raiders play in a different conference, but are a traditional rival of the San Francisco 49ers. While the Oakland Raiders and San Jose Earthquakes both play for different conferences, the matches - the Bay match - take place on the same day.

San Francisco is a tourist city, and locals are used to hearing from the city's owners about their own favorite teams, so they're not afraid of our own loyalties. To whet the appetite of Bay Area betting operators, San Francisco residents can bet on their favorite local teams. If you use the recommended sports bets on this page, you will find a wide range of betting options, without odds, to cover major sporting competitions around the world.

The 2018-2019 season is San Francisco's first year, so head out to cheer on your favorite team and feel right at home. Visit the brand new Chase Center for a game against the San Jose Earthquakes, the best basketball team in the Bay Area.

The Oakland Panthers of the Indoor Football League are close to starting the season as they try to fill the hole left by the Raiders' departure. Visit Kezar Pavilion to watch their first game against the San Francisco 49ers. The Bay Area is home to the NFL's best football team, the Oakland Raiders, who play at Levi's Stadium.

However, there are some sports bets that are licensed outside the United States but still accept American residents. The San Francisco Sharks, the NHL's second-best hockey team, play their home games at Chase Center in San Francisco. Sharks games are fun but hard to attend, especially if you stay in downtown San Diego or play in the Bay Area during the regular season or the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Football fanatics can experience the tradition of the San Francisco 49ers by visiting the museum, which is open daily. Across the bay, you'll find the Oakland Athletics (usually called Oakland A's), an American League team founded in Philadelphia in 1901 and moving to Oakland in 1968. They have been a farm team of the San Francisco Giants since 1988 and play in the Pacific Coast League, the second-best professional baseball league in America.

Although the 49ers no longer reside at their longtime home, Candlestick Park, San Francisco has a new Levi's Stadium. The Giants moved to Oracle Park in 2000 and play in the Pacific Coast League, the second-best professional baseball league in America.

Other sporting events hosted by the San Francisco Bay Area include the Golden State Warriors, Oakland Raiders, San Jose Earthquakes and San Diego Chargers. San Antonio, Sacramento, Los Angeles, Santa Clara and Oakland, California, host a variety of San Francisco sports events such as football, basketball, baseball, football, volleyball, golf, tennis, lacrosse and other sports. We are proud to report on all major sports events from the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, NFLPA, NCAA and NCAA Division II.

There is also an MLS football team in the Bay Area called San Jose Earthquakes, but they are one of the less popular teams you can see among travelers to the Bay. Shark fans love to go to what they call Shark Tank, about an hour southeast of SF, for their favorite sporting events. SanJose is also home to the University of California, San Francisco and San Diego State University, as well as the California Institute of Technology.
