Description

Discover Silicon Valley history makers from the early pioneers to today’s tech revolutionaries. Visit the modest origins and the now sprawling campuses of giants Apple, Facebook and Google. Learn what makes this the place for startups pushing the boundaries of technology.  Your 1-day tour of Silicon Valley begins at the front door of your San Francisco hotel. We’ll start early to enjoy a full day exploring how a handful of Santa Clara county cities started a digital revolution and changed the world. While riding in comfort down the San Francisco Peninsula, you’ll hear how Silicon Valley’s original “nerds”, like Frederick Terman, William Shockley, Bill Hewlett, Dave Packard and (much later) Mark Zuckerberg, got their starts.

Be onsite instead of online. These are private companies, so you won’t see techies at work, but you can snap selfies and buy branded merchandise at the visitors’ centers of firms like Apple, Google and Facebook. Buying an “I Visited the Mother Ship” t-shirt is a must! Note: visitor policies can change without notice.
Hit the books at Stanford. You’ll visit the Stanford University campus and stop for lunch at the intellectual spark that started it all. Once a small private university, this campus captured the imagination of the world and continues to lure bright, hopeful minds from everywhere.
High tech flight. After some more tech sightseeing, we’ll have some fun with the latest technology innovation—aerial drones. Don’t just watch. Take control and fly this high-tech aircraft over Peer Park!
Learn the history. Be amazed at how fast the world is changing when you see a one-of-a-kind Cray-1 supercomputer, the first Apple computer and Google's original web servers at the Computer History Museum. Yes, you can play PONG there. See National Historic Site where Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard developed the audio oscillator. Want more?  Visit the start-up address where Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak founded Apple Computer.
